Peace be upon you.

I shall make it a point to blog in almost perfect English in order to improve my English usage. Oh and not to forget, using humongous words from the thesaurus so as to widen my vocab. Wooh. Wat an uphill task, but still, one must make sacrifices in order to attain one's dreams. haha.

Anyway, I would like to blog today about the Malay community. As you loyal readers know (Although there are like none of you), I am a girl who is constantly obsessed with the status of my very own Malay community. I am constantly whining to my Chinese and Indian friends on how i sometimes feel proud of my own race, but am constantly let down by it at the same time. (This, of course includes the fact that i too sometimes let my race down.)

As we all know (i take it that all of you do know, Malays have a right to a free education all the way to University because we are the indegenious people of this country. In some parliamentary debates that has occured, some of the ministers have brought up the point that Singapore is a multi-racial country and that every race has the right to be treated equally. And thus, why are Malays given the rights to a free education when the Chinese, the Indians and the Etcetras have to pay a monthly school fee of about eighty bucks for a government school? This question has been posed to my Social Studies class not long ago,(i guess directed to me, because i am the only Malay student in my class.) by my teacher. I would have loved to scream out, "Because this is the Malay land you people are stepping on! Not happy isit we have free education?". But sadly, i didnt have the guts to do so because:

1) I am surrounded by 35 Chinese students, 4 Indian students and 1 extra China gerl (I will write my distaste on China workers in the bus early in the morning on another entry) who can proceed to beat me up anytime.

2) I feel bad that i dont have to pay the fees while others who deserve a free education more then me is not given the opportunity.

Yes, sometimes i feel like i do not deserve to get free education. This is due to the fact that i am a lazy student who doesnt always hand up her work on time and scores just under average in class. Compared to the Chinese/Indians students in class (who i think lives only by education alone), i am like a devil in disguise.

After that fateful day in which the teacher, Mrs Png, threw out that statement to the public, i have decided not to sleep in class anymore and to try handing in my assignments on time (although, not her works, because i hate social studies and cant be bothered). So far, i've done myself proud. And then my thoughts began to wonder to the rest of the Malay community.

Getting a free education is by far a priviledge that we should treasure. Anytime, the government may choose to put a stop to it on the grounds that Singapore is a multi-racial country. In the meantime, are the Malays really worth the investment? If you think about it, how much of the Malays are actually in top notch JCs, like National, Raffles, Hwa Chong etc? And think again, which institutes do the Malays usually end up at?

I am not being a wet blanket here, but i seriously doubt that the free education system will last long. Why should the government invest in us Malays when in the end only a portion of us really work hard to actually envelop the fact that our education is free and that we should make full use of it. I am not saying that i am the perfect example of a student who does this, because i'm far from that. I can only dream of reaching that position.

Like i mentioned earlier, free education is a priviledge which can be retreated anytime. The government must have pumped up millions of dollars over the years to give us Malays free education. Why dont we prove to them that their investment is worth every cent, that the indigenous people of this land can and will make this country proud?

Shoutouts to all Malays! Lets improve our standard of living and start focusing on our future, the future of our soon-to-be children and their children. Lets leave all the minah-ism and mat-ism behind and spend the time used learning how to taper jeans the right way, the best club to have ladies night at, shaking hands to melody-less techno beats or finding the best slut to have premarital intercourse with and improve ourselves instead. Lets make sure that the Government won't even think about deleting the "Malays get a free education" thingie.

P.S. haha. I dont think i got my point across correctly. Anyway, i want to mention that i have no grudge against ite people, just as long as you're giving your best. So please try not to bombard me with anti-fadhilah letters if you're from ite. Because chances are, if you're not a mat/minah, i loike you.

P.P.S. Oh, i am planning to reopen my first blog to upload all my Malay write-ups. This is because my Malay language standard has been slipping. Noooooooo...

Love,
So dizzy man writing in the middle of the night
